Friday 10th August

SHE SAID:

Tony & I headed for Black Mountain today. We spent 3 hours walking around trying to find signs of orchids. Canberra has been very dry, & there wasn't much to be seen. We did find 2 Greenhoods flowering, & leaves for 4 other orchids, so not a bad effort despite the dry conditions.

Geoff & I headed for Queanbeyan to have dinner with Phil & Andrea. Phil had suggested meeting at 6pm, but they didn't arrive till after 7pm... Friday night traffic & at least one accident! We had a good meal & catch till after 10pm.

Leafy Greenhood (Bunochilus umbrinus)

Nodding Greenhood (Pterostylis nutans)

Tony "Hard at it"
HE SAID:

I loitered around the house doing odd jobs and waiting for a f@($8n! courier to come and collect the generator that I finally sold on ebay. They didn't come, of course.

I spent about an hour on the phone, mostly on hold, trying to find out what was going on. Apparently, despite me having consignment numbers and details yesterday, the actual courier did not get them until mid-morning today. At this stage Monday is the collection day. We'll be gone, but luckily Mum will be around to see it off.
