Tuesday 16th July

SHE SAID:

Leaving Geoff in peace & quiet I headed out for the day with Beth, the local orchid  & wildflower lady. She had kindly offered to show me around the “hot-spots” in hopes of finding orchids. We found 4 types, one of which is a new to me find, & loads of ones coming on, maybe only a week away from opening….grrrr!

It was a brilliant day & we are doing the same again tomorrow, though checking out different areas!

Mills Lookout

Wildflowers

White Bluebeard Orchids (Pheladenia deformis)
Mini Donkey Orchid (Diuris recurva)

"Brown" Northern Banded Greenhoods (Pterostylis sp. 'northern')
Hairy-stemmed Snail Orchid
HE SAID:

When Varena has orchid buddies to go out ahuntin' with I usually leave them in peace. They don't need me wandering dimly around, struggling to work out whether are asking me the time or speaking Latin flower names. So I chilled out at the van and did some minor tasks.
