Monday 15th July

SHE SAID:

We were the last ones to leave the Mullewa Caravan Park today, but with only 108km to go to our next stop at Geraldton we were in no hurry to leave.

Our arrival to Drummond Cove was before midday. The park wasn’t full so we were able to check straight away & have a choice of sites. We even got an ocean view.

After getting groceries I met up with the local orchid lady for an hour long chat about our touring day tomorrow.

We walked to the beach for the sunset & to enjoy our free bubbly, thanks to BWS! Our beach adventure was amusing. It was much further than it looked, with a steep hill to go down, a couple large-ish sand dunes to get over & “bush-bash” before finally finding the beach. It turned out to be a 4wd beach, with people tearing up & down it, so we sat fairly close to the water to avoid getting squashed!

Then we had the return trip to the van park; we took a different & slightly easier route back, managing to get to the van before it was totally dark. A fun adventure, once it was over! LOL!

HE SAID:

At BWS we had bought a couple of bottles of flash plonk when the attendant asked me if there was anything else he could do for me. Being a bit of a smarty pants I said no, unless he could give me free stuff. And he said that all he could give me was a free bottle of bubbles. And he did! So that bottle was our evening beach-side quaff. I'll have to ask for free stuff more often!
