Tuesday 2nd July

SHE SAID:

With sun & blue skies today I had high hopes of finding the very pretty Cleopatra’s Needles Sun Orchid.

We set off for Moora first & had a walk around the little reserve there, finding masses of Greenhoods: the Green Veined Shell Orchid. Then we went looking for a “needle in a haystack”. The Cleopatra’s Needles are brightly coloured, but only 15-20cm tall; surrounded by scrub it took us a while to spot one. We did find 2 in the end, plus a Hare Orchid & an almost open Snail Greenhood.

I was a very happy bunny. The Cleopatra's Needles were beautiful little flowers.

I managed to help Varena by spotting some orchids. I also managed to walk right past the second Cleopatra of the day. Lucky it was spotted at all!
