SHE
SAID:
A
600km round trip today to meet Natalie & Michael in Albany. They
have a lovely fluffy cat called “Fluffy” that they need looking
after for a couple of weeks. So we went to meet them all in hopes
that Fluffy would agree to us being in the house. He seemed
completely non-plussed about us, preferring to continue snoozing on the
lap-top! So
I guess we are in! LOL!
We
also had a brief charge in & out of the Gull Rock National Park
in search of orchids. We found 4, one of which is on every orchid
lovers “hit list”. And my fantastic hubby found it.
The
aptly named Queen of Sheba Sun Orchid was standing loud & proud
on the edge of the dirt road for all to see! Though you won’t see it unless you happened to randomly stop in the right place, which we
did! Considering it was raining, completely overcast & cold I was
stunned to see it out! Very
happy & excited about this find.
Recently, in the past week, a patch of these priority orchids were bulldozed by
the parks people. They claimed they didn’t know they were there,
despite the GPS tagging of them by dedicated orchid conservationists!
HE SAID:
We had a big day out, with a long drive, orchid hunting, and house-sit arranging. All were successful, with only one near miss with a kangaroo (actually a euro, I reckon) on the way home.
Varena was very, very happy with my orchid find, granting me another one million indelible brownie points that last forever and for always. Well, at least until I lose them all like the last batch!
