Monday 5th August

SHE SAID:

Our final day out in the Kojonup area. I had decided on a mostly driving tour, as the weather was iffy. The Visitor Info puts out a Wildflower Touring brochure with 4 different drives that you can do, so I chose a few nature reserves from a couple of different routes.

It was a good plan, as the rain came & went, mostly when we were in the car! Orchids were found by us both, possibly a new Snail Orchid by Geoff! Once again the Spider Orchids were all “still coming”….

We returned for a late lunch & hibernation for the rest of the day.

Fields of Gold (Wattle)

Red-sepalled Snail (new find by Geoff)
Small flower Donkey Orchid in the rain

Left; Inside a Jug Orchid
Dark banded Greenhood & wildflowers

HE SAID:

We barely got wet as we meandered around the bush. Our travels led us to several places, and several orchids. Unfortunately the flash-looking spider orchids are yet to burst forth, so we just saw several hundred buds that teased Varena's sanity.

The first Ashes test match is going great! With the unexpected possibility of an Aussie win. Cool!
