SHE SAID:
My final “50 birthday number” has arrived; scary!
Geoff looked after me, with smoked salmon & scrambled eggs to start the day.
Devil’s Food Cake & Mel’s gift of Moet et Chandon Champagne after lunch.
Then fillet steak & salad for dinner, washed down with a bottle of Pinot Noir from Geoff’s relative's winery in Tasmania.
A wonderful food & wine filled day, with lots of birthday wishes from around the world to top off a lovely day.
Scrummy Devil's Food Cake, made by Geoff. A once a year treat! |
It was EXCELLENT! |
Nibble board for lunch, & Steak, salad & hasselback spuds for dinner |

It was my lovely wife's birthday, so, using some of the things she has taught me over the years, I looked after best I could for the day. It seemed to all go very well!
The one minor hiccup, actually two, was when making the cake I created a rather larch cloud of cocoa with the mixer. Oops! Being a bit slow, I managed a wet version of the cloud with some added liquids, once again with the mixer. Luckily it was all cleaned up easily.
