SHE SAID:
We had a few hours out orchiding with Martina & Ric at Nine Mile Lake NR. It was about 60km for us to drive, & about the same for them coming down from Perth.
As usual, Geoff found the 2 flowering orchids of the day: Hares & Leafless, or my preferred name, the Rainbow Orchid. Ric & I were very happy. I managed to spot some Bunnies budding, but none out!
I’d made us some smoked salmon & cream cheese wraps for lunch but managed to leave the flask of hot water for a cuppa on the bench! Der, idiot!

HE SAID:
With Martina unable to do any orchid wandering for health reasons she does a lot of research, recording, admin etc. Ric is the wanderer/hunter of their team and relays any finds back. But Ric seemed rather keen that I go along today when the outing was being planned, and I always thought I would as they are good company, but I have a feeling that he may just have wanted some male company, and to talk blokey things after both of their recent major health problems. It seems that Martina had a fall not long ago that required an ambulance to attend, and Ric has had blood clots on his lungs plus a stent inserted for a heart blood vessel just last week. They can't win a trick at the moment.
So, the orchid wanderings, chats, lunch etc made it a good day out.
