Thursday 30th March
SHE SAID:
Nikki & I headed for Dryandra Woodland again, this time for an overnight stay in one of the old forestry cabins.
We had an excellent afternoon & evening out there; thankfully the rain held off till the wee hours.
Julie, one of the caretakers, offered to drive us around to try & find numbats. Our tally for the drive was;
3 numbats
8 echidnas
3 possums
1 mardo (Yellow-footed antechinus)
After dark we saw a Woylie, which came right up to the cabin, & a barn owl, which flew across in front of the cabin in my spotlight!

HE SAID:
I'm back. Varena's gone. She zoomed off around 10am for her numbat adventure. The communications at Dryandra are pretty bad, so we only had a couple of text messages all day. I caught up with the washing from my time in Canberra, and replaced yet another tap washer. This house eats tap washers!
I had a brief Skype with Mum in the afternoon to get the latest on her health. She is not great, and her back still hurts. I reckon there is more to this than we know so far.
