Tuesday 9th May

I had a few hours out solo orchid hunting & was happy to find some Scented Autumn Leeks flowering. A first for the year for me.
At 1pm I headed to Yelverton to meet with Dorte at Gary’s place. She had made Scones & homemade Lemon Curd which we ate on the deck in the mild autumn sun.
Then, we had a 90-minute wander around the block seeing what orchids were out. Before I left Dorte’s “tame” Kookaburra Squawky flew down for a feed, & "she/he" came right up to her to take some liver out of her hand.
This cricket blended in so well with the leaves, if hadn't moved I'd never seen it |

HE SAID:
It looked to be quite a nice day, so for the first time, I took myself for a walk around the small lakes on this estate in the afternoon. It was probably only a 10 to 15 minute walk, but previously I just hadn't felt like doing much, plus I hadn't wanted to encounter anyone with my face as it is. After 8 days I guess I am on the improve.
