 Thursday 20th July

Kathy & I headed back to the Wispy Spiders again this morning; the wind had died down & we were able to get better (I hope) photos. Then we headed north to check on another spot before going to the islands on a salt lake on Mt Ney Road. Kathy was quite sceptical that we’d see anything here, & was amazed that we found Snails, Donkeys & budding Bird Orchids!

We also found the tiny Pink Bunnies open at Mt Burdett, & more Donkeys on Wittenoom Road. It was a good day out.

HE SAID:

I had a brief chat with Mum in her isolation room at Canberra hospital this morning, using Carmel's phone on speaker. The isolation may be extended out to 14 days as apparently the un-vaxxed can shed covid cells for much longer than the vaxxed people, and you don't want that in a hospital. So, ironically, the unvaxxed are the threat, despite the years of unhinged gibberish that it is the other way around. She sounded very weary. Apparently she had a little more to eat during the day, but I reckon it is nowhere near enough, and is unsustainable. The hospital staff are trying to help her, but some of her unusual ideas on food seem unchangeable, even in these dire circumstances.

Later in the morning I took Charli out to the retreat in Ean's ute for a run around and check a few things. Of course, there was the cricket in the even, and also a 90 minute Skype with Julian in Japan.
