Wednesday 5th July
SHE SAID:
Although the day started off bright & sunny, it didn’t last. The wind was strong all day & the rain arrived around 10am.
Knowing the day was going to be ordinary I'd planned a day in. I got some cooking done, as well as cut Geoff’s hair, did the ironing, finished my book, & sorted out yesterday's photos to get the Blog updated.
It was good to have a less bendy day (bending, crouching in strange positions), as my back was objecting to 4 full days out!

HE SAID:
When I got up to make our tea and coffee this morning the sky was clear and blue. It didn't last long. The rest of the day was a series of very strong wind and rain squalls that had the doors and windows of this rattling and moaning. My main achievement for the day was keeping the wood up to the fire for warmth, with a secondary minor achievement of actually reading the MCC's Spirit of Cricket document, which the UK media are crapping on about (after Bairstow was clearly stumped, but not happy), and which makes it clear that they are the only ones doing the wrong thing, by not accepting the umpires decision!
