Friday 25th August
SHE SAID:
Geoff & I were invited over to the neighbour, Linda’s, for morning tea today. She had made a lovely Vanilla Slice Pie, which went down very well. She also gave us some of her homegrown vegs.
After morning tea I dashed up the road, 5 minutes from the house, to check on the Leek Orchid I found close to flowering. It was out & smelt lovely.
In the late afternoon I had an emergency appointment at the dentist. I thought I’d chipped a tooth, but it was a filling that had chipped a small piece off. It was quickly fixed, thankfully, as it felt awful, though it was not painful.
Drinks outside on the deck was a first for us. It was, for once, warm enough to be outside in the late afternoon.

Frilled Leek, rather too close to the car! |
A slightly worrying sight when you are surrounded by bush (turned out to be a burn off) |
HE SAID:
Linda has a lovely house. She said it was designed to be open, light, and aligned well to get the sun in winter and be shaded in summer, while still retaining modest views across the bay to Albany. And, she made cake! Which I enjoyed very much. We kept an eye online for any word of the burn-off getting out of hand. There is only one road to access the Goode Beach area and we don't want it to be cut. All was well.
