With a great improvement in the weather today we ventured down to Hopetoun. The “hope”, LOL, was to find more open orchids, & we did have some success: Helmets - 2 different types, Snails, Donkeys, & Jugs were all out. I was happy with the day's finds.

We had a few stops where we didn't find much today. We made up for it near the end of the road at Hamersley Inlet, where I managed a short burst of finds, well and truly earning my elevenses. On our way back towards Hopetoun we stopped at Mt Barren lookout for a wander, finding a few orchids, but sighting no whales. The elevated position looking over the calm seas was a great spot for looking, but the whales had other ideas.
