SHE SAID:

We are heading off to stay with Dorte & Gary in Yelverton today. The house owners have decided to come back a week early, sending our well laid out plans into disarray. Dorte & Gary had said we were welcome anytime, so we landed on them around 2pm.

Dorte put on a lovely Venezuelan Chilli con Carne, followed by chocolate cake. We had a funny & chatty evening.

In the garden

HE SAID:

Mark and Roz returned after 12 noon. We had spent most of the morning finalising the packing, sorting, and cleaning of house, so after a brief handover chat we headed off south. It was lucky that we have friends nearby. 

Mark and Roz had said we could stay on at their place but it wouldn't have felt right. It is their house, after all. It was the lack of notice of their return that threw us. They must have known for quite a while that they would be returning early, yet we only found out three days ago when Varena asked their plans in one of her regular update communications. We would have managed, of course, but more notice, especially as Jan is here, would have made life less stressful.

Our evening with Dorte and Gary was fun, and tasty, as usual.
