Both Mum & I were feeling a little more human today.
Juli-chin & Kiyoka wanted to show us their newly purchased house a couple of hours away in Naguri. We headed there at 9.30am; the traffic was pretty good.
After parking at their place we went to a local restaurant for lunch. It is in a very old traditional style Japanese house but served Italian food! Being as it was Kiyoka’s birthday we had snuck in some presents for her to celebrate the occasion. It was a nice meal followed by a tour of the area with their Real Estate agent, who on hearing we were visiting insisted he show us around.
Firstly, to the temple complex high above the town, then to the start of the town's river in the forest. It was a good tour around the area, & finally we ended up back at Juli-chin’s Pink Palace for a look around.
Back in Kodaira we rounded out the day with Rose Champagne & nibbles.

We spent around 90 minutes getting the 50km to the house in the hills. Apparently this was a good run. The new house needs a fair bit of work, which is a surprise, as Julian is not a big DIY-er. Rebuilding decks and fixing other things will require a bit of outside help. The scenery is very nice in the area; the house is adjacent to a river, and mountains and forest seem to go for miles.
