SHE SAID:

Kiyoka drove us to her father’s allotment for a quick look at all his work, then on to the main park that they go to in the area for the cherry blossom festival. There were more blossoms out here than we had previously seen. Kiyoka couldn’t park so left us to wander around the park & make our way back to the house.

Many locals had the same idea, & the kids are on holidays too, so there were lots of people around. I think the blossom is probably 50% out in some places, but as low as 20-25% in others, but we certainly got some lovely photos of the pinks, whites & cerise flowers.

After lunch Kiyoka took Geoff & me to the mall to buy some cherry blossom biscuits to take to the UK, & maybe Australia, if they last that long.

HE SAID:

We had a bit of a hiccup at Katsuichi's allotment. Where Kiyoka parked the car was apparently a space rented out to a person who lived nearby, but she had no idea. When we returned to the car the carpark owner had blocked us in! Luckily Kiyoka's father has a good relationship with the man who owns all the land, and he dug out a phone number to call the car owner and got him to return and move his car. This bloke had done nothing wrong, but was understandably grumpy when we all said thanks.
