SHE SAID:

ANZAC Day in Australia & Liberation Day in Italy.

Today we headed for Pisa & the Square of Miracles. There are 4 large buildings in this area: The Leaning Bell Tower, the Duomo, the walled cemetery, & the baptistery.

We had tickets to go into the baptistery & the Duomo & we wandered around taking a few photos! Again, we had a couple of hours free time to explore the town, then it was back to Lucca.

Thankfully the weather had improved when we returned to Lucca & Geoff & I enjoyed a stroll along part of the 4km long city wall.

The non-opera people ate at a little restaurant close to the hotel; there was 6 of us, and it was a tasty dinner.

HE SAID:

Pisa was cool to see. It is a must do if you can, just to say you've been there. The leaning tower looks like it is leaning a long way, even though the official information says that it leaning at under 4 degrees.

As we have no interest in opera we joined with a few other non-opera-ites and took them virtually across the road from the hotel, to a quaint looking restaurant that we'd noticed yesterday. At first the owner said that they were all booked out, then he said that we could eat, as long as we left by 8:30. So we did, and had a good feed, plenty of wine, and a good chat. It was fun.
