Monday 30th September

SHE SAID:

With Geoff being house-bound whilst I dashed to Geraldton the last few days I thought he would like a day out together. It was part orchid hunting & part scenic walking out at Wellington Dam. The weather was kind & we had a nice day.

I even shouted him an ice cream on the way back, I think I surprised him.

Another surprise was a message from Kylie & Ean in Esperance. They have finally sold the Esperance Coastal Retreat after 3 ½ years or so on the market. I called to congratulate them; they are over the moon that it is all done & dusted now. We worked for them for just over a year in 2021-2022, living on site, caretaking & helping with guests & cleaning & have stayed friends ever since; they are a great couple.

HE SAID:

It was good to have a day out together and, for me, a longer leg-stretch than the last few days. I don't mind staying at the house while Varena is out orchiding, but after a few days of it a longer walk when she gets back seems needed. And today I got an ice cream!

Kylie's message about the sale of the Esperance Retreat was good news. My guess is that she and Ean will be so relieved. And cashed up. But also just a little nostalgic, but they'll get over that in hurry!
