Evelyn & I headed for the Wandering area today, meeting up with Sam at the Moramockining NR in search of the Giant Donkey. I found it with some help; it was different & I haven’t seen it before. COOL.
We did 2 more reserves, finding quite a few more orchids, before Sam headed for Dryandra & we headed back. Evelyn had one more stop where the hillside was covered in 100’s of Blue Sun Orchids. Amazing sight when they are fully out I should imagine. We saw only a few out as it was 4pm, & they usually close around 3ish, but it was still 29C.
We got back to the house at 5.15pm, another orchid-filled day.

HE SAID:
Varena was off fairly early so I lazed about in bed a bit before tackling my chores. I didn't have too much planned today, so I managed to watch a couple of hours of a test match between India and Bangladesh later on. During the morning, after sorting out all the caged feathery beasties, I was walking back to the house when I saw a duck, a drake actually, approaching me and hissing. In the one second it took for my brain to realise that this drake was not happy it leapt up at me, flapping its wings all over the place, mainly around my head, squawked a lot, then went to ground. Realising that this fella was trying to protect his ducklings that must be nearby I wandered off chastised.
