We headed along Chesapeake Road today, to the Broke Inlet end. We have been in this area several times before, so I had a few locations I wanted to look in, plus there had been a couple of summer burns in the area, which we found.
12 orchids were seen, including 2 surprise finds, by Geoff of course. 1st was Purple Pansies, & the 2nd was a Stumpy Spider; I was very happy.
The other not so good surprise was seeing a mother pig & 3 piglets on the track. It is unusual to see them out & about, though there is evidence of their presence in the bush with their diggings, which are very destructive.

One thing I don't want to come across by surprise in the bush is wild pigs. We know that they can be around, but we have rarely seen them. Being charged by a razorback does not sound like fun.
