Monday 27th January

SHE SAID:

We expected a quiet day, being  as it is public holiday; it is best to stay away from the madding crowds. But Evelyn rang to see if she could come down to pick up the ACT orchid book that I have for her from Jean & Tobias.

She arrived in time for morning tea, staying on to join us for lunch out at the Vasse Village Markets. As always it was crazy busy there, but still plenty of tables to sit at for lunch. We also bumped into Dorte & Gary doing their shopping, who joined us too.

Then in the late afternoon the BBL final was on to keep Geoff entertained. Evelyn left before it started.

HE SAID:

Being a public holiday we weren't planning much for the day. That changed when Evelyn came over. Varena and Evelyn spent a couple of hours discussing orchids, which I didn't join in with. We all decided to go to the Vasse Village and get lunch, which I don't think I'd bother with again. The arrangements for selecting what you'd like, and then paying for it is rather messy, with long, disorganised queues when it is busy. Dorte and Gary happened to be there too, so we ate lunch together, chatting away, as you do.

The BBL final was a good watch, with Hobart winning their first premiership, and Mitch Owen scoring a rapid century with lots of big hits. I'd have preferred Sydney Thunder to win, but I enjoyed the game anyway.
