SHE SAID:
Geoff asked me to go with him on a reccy around the sheep field as only 4 sheep came over for a feed of the lucerne when he put it out; there should be 5! He had been around once & couldn't see the other one.
We followed the boundary fence, looking for a hole, but eventually Geoff spotted it in next door's field with their sheep! We didn’t find any holes & there was no one home at the neighbours, bar a barking fat Blue Heeler dog! Geoff said he will go again after work hours.
We had a triple leftover meals day today. The blinis / pikelets with berries & yoghurt for breakfast, leftover sausages in hot dog rolls for lunch, & the rest of the meatballs (from the freezer) & fettuccine for dinner!!!

HE SAID:
It took a little while for it to sink in that we were one sheep short this morning. I know there are only a few of them, but they move a bit. Anyway, when the penny dropped I had a wander around the paddock, hoping not to find another dead or dying sheep. This time the bugger couldn't be found at all. When Varena had finished up doing her things she joined me for a second patrol, this time looking for escape routes as well as escapees. The elusive animal had not wandered far from home; it was only about 30 metres from the boundary fence, and with the neighbour's sheep, but I was not about to wander into someone else's paddock and start droving their sheep. It seemed rude, but also had the potential for being faced with an angry dog, or an angry human.
I made two afternoon trips to their house, but no-one was in. It is not a big deal, so I'll try again tomorrow.
