Saturday 8th March
SHE SAID:
Geoff headed out around 6.30am, I assume, as I was sleeping, not waking till 7.20am. He was working at the WA elections for the day.
I completed the ironing this morning; we had bought a new iron yesterday afternoon on the way to meet Dorte & Gary. Other than that I took it easy; my back is still annoying me.
Geoff returned at about 8.40pm, and all seemed to go well.

HE SAID:
I woke before the alarm, as usual. Getting up early gave me a more relaxed start to the day, which was probably better, anyway.
The Acton Park Hall is about 15 minutes away, and I was there a few minutes before 7. There were just four of us working there, but we weren’t run off our feet, with a fairly steady stream of voters most of the day. The supervisor, Sharyn, seemed to know more than half of the people coming in, so there was plenty of chatting, which probably added to the relaxed vibe of the day.
While still a long day, 0700 – 2030, it only got tedious towards the end of the count of votes, around 7:30 or so, which is the usual from my experience.
