SHE SAID:
Mum had a consultant's appointment at Horsham Hospital today. The results of her recent Holter monitor test couldn’t find any problems. Which is good & bad news; the bad being it means she has to give up driving permanently now & the possibility of another blackout can’t be ruled out, which makes driving highly dangerous.
A very sad day for Mum, as she loves her little car & the freedom it gives her.
She did have a lift in spirits with Bingo in the lounge in the evening with a crowd of the residents.
Geoff & I headed out for dinner with an old college friend of mine, Shivhaun, & her husband Dickie. We didn’t see each other last year, so it was great to see them again.

HE SAID:
The hospital consultation for Jan today was a cardio specialist. As nothing had been found to pin down the cause of Jan’s 4 blackouts within the last 18 months he recommended that an Implantable Loop Recorder be fitted under Jan’s skin, for up to 4 years, to monitor the heart and blood pressure and look for the cause of the blackouts. It is a wireless, recording device, and some have fully automated feedback to the medicos so that analysis of the results can occur without you even getting out of the house. I think it is a great idea, but we’ll see where this leads.
