We had a good day out, seeing 17 different orchids, a couple of new ones for the season too. I found the Short-sepaled Spider & Geoff found the Dwarf Zebra. We found loads of Sugars, Hairy-stemmed Snails, Western Wispy Spiders, Sigmoid Spiders, & a hybrid between the 2 called the Delicate Spider.
We went to 2 “known” locations & the rest were either random stops, EWS NR’s, or historic GPS’s for the Mohawk Spider, which I had found doing research. No Mohawks found.
On the way back to the caravan park we stopped at the Tavern to order dinner then headed over for drinks & a feed around 6pm. We were given huge meals at reasonable prices, they were good too.

The day out was quite enjoyable, with plenty of finds to have Varena enthusing madly. On our return to the van in the afternoon neither of us could find the van keys. We looked in all the usual places, as you do, and then Varena pipes up with "Try checking the door". We'd managed to leave them in the van door all day! Oh well. No dramas from our brain fart. The pub dinner was good. My "Bum Steak" was really good, huge, and tasty. Varena enjoyed her "Chicken Pyjamas" too. These kiddie names were actually how they were listed on the menu! There were only two other couples in the place when we arrived, and as were last in we were last served for dinner. We were done and dusted by 7pm.
This unfortunate pub is on its last legs. The new highway was moved away from the old main road that the pub is on, the number of locals has shrunk dramatically, the few local lads don't go there anymore after being chucked out for doing drugs, and the current owners can't find a buyer after being there for 13 years and having a gut full.
