Saturday 28th February

Happy 58th Birthday Geoff, or really 14 ½ in “Geoff” years. It is once again a “fake” birthday, but we do celebrate it, though he doesn’t get 2 goes!
He chose the Pepper & Salt Restaurant at the Forest Hill Winery just west of Denmark for his birthday lunch. It was excellent despite the wintry weather, gloomy skies, light rain & breeze.
We finished off the birthday outing with a visit to the “Pop-Up” Lights Beach Brewery in Denmark. It only opens about 4 times a year, perfect timing for his birthday...! Geoff sampled a couple of the beers.
The Burnt Basque Cheese & berries (requested birthday cake) went down very nicely with a cuppa by the fire…! Yes, it was that cold!

HE SAID:
I’m not sure how many times I have mopped a floor on my birthday but today was one. Not a huge job, but it needed doing. The Pepper and Salt restaurant on the western side of Denmark was very nice. Everything was really good. Our visit to the brewery was a bit cool, but the two beers I had went down well. It was a good outing.
Back at the house Varena’s very tasty cheesecake rounded out the goodies for the day, while we watched some shows and tried to stay warm by my not so successful fire. I will prepare better and make another fire tomorrow.
Thank you for a great day, Varena!
