SAID:
Mum
& John surprised us by coming down for breakfast by about 9am.
They hadn't got in till well after midnight!
We
had a quiet morning & headed out about midday for Maastricht. We
did the 45 minute city bus tour, which was mainly in the rain. Then
had a wander to a couple of the main places of the city.
For
dinner we had to go to Valkenburg, as everywhere around the hotel was
closed. We took the taxi driver's recommendation & ate at an
American Diner, which wasn't bad.

While the town centre of Maastricht is not huge, it was good to get a tour. The rain hindered Varena's photo taking, but it was still worthwhile.
