SHE SAID :
We left West Bay
around 9am and headed to Exeter, so Geoff could get to the library
and post office. I had a stroll around the old ruins of Exeter
Castle, originally built by the Romans, then around town.
Onwards over
Dartmoor to the YHA at the Eden Project, where l have booked us into
their "container pods" for the next 2 nights.
We met up with
Mum and John at their hotel, for dinner.

HE SAID:
There were nice views, and lots of animals on Dartmoor. The warning signs about sheep lying on the road were needed, as the sheep have little fear of cars.
I needed a library to get online and do some printing. I had sold a Cardiff Test Match cricket ticket and needed to send it off. We were lucky not to get too caught up with a large police operation and cordon around the Exeter city centre due to a bomb threat. It turned out to be innocuous.
These container pods are interesting. I can see the attraction, but only for brief stays. The pods are cramped, stuffy, and noisy. While we were fortunate not to be staying during a busy period, which would naturally be noisier due to more people being there, the waste water system seems to not be a normal waste pipe, but some gravity or volume activated thumping device. When showering, every ten or so seconds there is a loud thumpenclang/whackenschmitt sound from the drain. The neighbours one did it too. So, portable, reusing old containers, and different - all pluses; no natural ventilation without the door open, people walking along the gantry way to get to their pod and shaking the whole row, the noisy drainage - all minuses. Don't rush to this one.
