& I managed to get in to town & back to Mum's between the rain
showers.
For
dinner we met up with my old school friend Claire & her husband &
went to one of the pubs up the road, called the Olive Branch. We had a
nice dinner & long chat.

I've met Claire and Brian a couple of times spaced out over 18 or so years. They are always cheery, and Varena and Claire natter on and on when together. Varena made a remarkable comment about Claire: they have known each other almost 50 years!
