My
planned early start ended up being 9am, but as it turned out that was
fine. We didn't have any traffic problems, only rain!
We
had lunch at Chesterfield, & arrived at our Sheffield BnB around
2.30pm. This time we are on the top floor of a lovely old Victorian
house. Brian & Jill, our hosts, are lovely & we had a very nice
meal with them in the evening. It was a great way to get to know each
other.
The "wobbly" church spire of Chesterfield which dominates the town
Market day seemed to bit a bit washed out!
This sculpture of a bee is the grounds of the church, though we weren't sure why! A lovely carving none the less.

Geoff found this amusing "map of the British Isles" & some of the stranger places names. And thought it was Blog -worthy!!!

Our drive north to Sheffield was almost a dream run for UK roads. We had lots of rain and a couple of places where we had to slow down to 50mph, but most of the time we just sat on the 70mph limit. It made a nice change.
I recommend that people do an internet search of all the rude or funny UK place names. Some of the place names are hilarious. And there are so many of them! It might be a childish thing to do, but...
