SHE
SAID:
For
the final day of our Ulverston time & we had a couple of short
drives around the area.
We
were told about the village of Cartmel, so we headed out there. The
Sticky Toffee Pudding from there is quite well known in the area, & worth the drive.
Geoff was also told to check out the micro-brewery too!
We
had a walk around Ulverston; yet another quaint old village with
cobbled streets & windy narrow roads. It's “claim to fame” is
that Stan Laurel, part of the “Laurel & Hardy” duo, was born
there.
The
£5 Fish'n'Chip dinner at one of the local pubs was a nice finish to
the day.

If you need an excuse to eat sticky toffee pudding then head to Cartmel, they claim to be the home of it. So we did.
