SHE SAID:

A driving tour of the Lake District took us to Coniston Water, which was like glass & great for photos. Then through Ambleside, Keswick, Cockermouth, to our lunch stop at Maryport.

As we drove past a power station with a sign saying Sellafield my memory went into rewind, "I think that is a nuclear plant" I said to Geoff.

We had another stop at the very picturesque village of Ravenglass, before returning for a drink in the mini garden at the BnB. A pint of the local brew at the local pub & a Chinese takeaway finished off the day nicely.
Coniston Water - perfectly still water

Highland Coos...Or to normal people Highland Cows!
I didn't find any in the Highlands or Scotland come to that, these were spotted in Cumbria

HE SAID:

It was another pleasant drive around the area. And, rather oddly, the Lake District seemed to have more peaks than the Peak District.
