SHE SAID :

With rain forecast for about 11am, we got going by around 9.30am and managed to have a look around Bury St Edmunds without getting too wet!

We also headed up the Thetford, the "home" of Dad's Army, the great 60's/70's tv series. There is a small museum in the town with its very own Captain Mainwaring; it brought back many memories.

For dinner we caught up with friends Elaine and Darren who live in the quaint village of Icklingham, in a lovely 500 year old thatched house.

HE SAID:

The Dad's Army museum was a hoot. The show was on regularly at our house when I was a kid, so I knew what was what.

Elaine and Darren and were fun and chatty. We had a good evening, and it was great to put faces to the names after all these years.
