SHE SAID:

We went up to Porcupine Gorge today; it's about 70km north of Hughenden.

Heading out of town, Geoff spotted a pair of Brolgas wandering along the roadside, so of course I had to harass them with my camera for a bit.

We had a quick look at the gorge from the lookout, then headed to the walking track down to the gorge & creek! I was keen to do this, but knew the return 1.1km walk back up would be slow & painful for me! Walking up hill is NOT my favourite part of the walk! Luckily for me Geoff is kind enough to wait with water & the encouragement of finding orchids in trees! (Often!)

Dancing Brolga...he'd gotten away from me & my camera!!!

This local was happy to pose for me, just like it's cousin from Undara Volcanic National park
last week!
HE SAID:

As good a place that Porcupine Gorge is I was more impressed with the brolgas that we saw on the way out of town. I have seen so many gorges, and rivers and creeks, but not many of these large birds lately.
