SHE
SAID:
With
freshly laid free range eggs, & of course bacon, for breakfast we
were off to a great start at our latest house sit. The cats were
chilled out & happy to head off outside when we opened the door.
After
sorting out all our stuff we had a walk around the property &
saw 7 Wedge-Tailed Eagles soaring in the skies above us. There was
another one feeding on what looked like a sheep carcass in the fields
on the next property. The track down the left hand side of the house is apparently the old Limekilns Road. It doesn't go anywhere these days, but has
several bee hives on it.
Diana, the owner, warned us that the wind gets up here, & it returned
today; it is quite fierce. As the day progressed the temerature
dropped, to the point of Geoff putting the fire on around dusk! Bah! SUMMER!
We
also missed out on the "Super Blood Moon" too; the clouds
were too heavy!

HE SAID:
Our plans for the day were to take it easy and settle in. So, after a relaxed and lazy lie-in, then bacon and eggs, we finished setting ourselves up for our two week stay.
We have 20 or so acres to play with here, but didn't walk them all. The area we did walk was interesting, but could do with some more rain.
