Thursday 10th May

SHE SAID:

I had a day out alone today. Geoff said he had a list of things he wanted to do at the house, plus I was going to look at sculptures! Not his cup of tea.

Heading south, I had a brief look around Bendemeer, before turning east along the Oxley Highway to Woolbrook (the birth place of Barnaby Joyce...!), then onto Walcha. There are around 40 sculptures around the town & surrounding areas. I guess I saw about 3/4 of them. They varied from wooden seats & awning posts, to metal men & mosaics.

Heading back down Thunderbolt's Way, I wanted to check out the Sunhill Goat Dairy, but on seeing two bus loads of school kids there I changed my mind! Instead, I made a return visit to Gostwyck Chapel; the ivy covering the outside walls was turning a lovely shade of red, even nicer than our previous visit a couple of weeks ago.

Another chapel conversion to a house; we see a lot
of these on our travels

HE SAID:

Given the choice of an outing to look at art, or to do a few things around the place, I managed to get a few things done around the place.
