Monday 4th June

Today we headed out to the Guy Fawkes River National Park, so called because the explorer who named it did so on Guy Fawkes Day! The destination was about 120km from the house, with several stops in-between. The World Heritage Listed Mount Hyland Nature Reserve looked like a little piece of tropical jungle in the middle of the dry gum forest; quite a surprise.

The Misty Creek lookout was awesome, along with Chaelundi Bluff at the end of the strangely named Lucifer's Thumb Track, & Point Vista View. All were overlooking the gorges & eucalyptus forests below. The weather was warmer & kinder to us than when we went to Mummel Gulf National Park, except when it was lunch time & some drizzly rain came down to spoil sitting outside by the creek!

Another good day out exploring. There was a 5km walk, some speccy views, and I got lunch. So all was well.
