Geoff
& I combined grocery shopping & research for new tyres with
some sightseeing.
We
headed into Laurieton, so Geoff could get some prices on new tyres
for both the car & van. Then we went on through Dunbogan &
out to Camden Head for a look around. We checked out the beach &
walked a couple of kms to the Pebbly Beach Lookout. Not planning on
finding orchids we did see 2 new types!
We
were right on time for morning tea at the Dunbogan Boat Shed, a nice
spot to have a cuppa; recommended by Elaine & Geoff.
The
groceries were done on the way back to the house.
In
the late afternoon we went up to the North Brother Lookout, about 15
mins from the house. The lookout doesn't look west, but over Laurieton
& Camden Head, where we were today; a scenic spot for a glass of wine
& nibbles.

HE SAID:
I have been putting off getting new tyres, squeezing a few more kms out of what we have. Anyway, a local tyre outlet had been recommended to us by Geoff and Elaine, and after speaking with the bloke there I ended up ordering a full set for both the van and car - 8 tyres. I could probably have mucked around with getting 6 now and two later, or something similar, but it was satisfying to think that we should be OK tyre-wise for quite a while, especially as we head over to Victoria, South Australia, and Western Australia in the next few months. And as a small bonus, the tyres were on special, so I saved a few bucks to boot!
