Saturday 18th August

SHE SAID:

Luckily we were packed up, & well on the road when the rain came today.

We are heading west for Lake Entrance, & the weekend weather forecast is awful! We hit some decent rain, but seemed to drive through it, as when we got to the camp ground it had stopped! Though, the air temperature was chilly & the wind was strong & icy.

After a hot warming lunch we headed out for a drive. Having done 2 house sits here before we know our way around. I knew where I wanted to go; looking for orchids. We found 2 flowering types & several more coming.

The rain returned for the late afternoon; thankfully after we returned to the van. I did venture out again to get some cool cloud & sunset photos; it was B***** freezing!

HE SAID:

Our drive from Mallacoota to Lakes Entrance was rather cool. The car thermometer showed it as 7 degrees for most of the way. I took it fairly easy on drive, as the windy roads, hills, and wet weather meant that there was absolutely no point in pushing for an earlier arrival.
