We
hit the road just after 9am, after a rather cold night. Annoyingly, the diesel heater wouldn't play ball, so it was a muck around to get
it going... hopefully just teething problems.
Our
next stop was in Anna Bay. We are here for 2 nights to catch up with
2 lots of friends. We were set up at the Bay Holiday Park by 11.30am, which gave me enough time to have a short wander along the bush
tracks behind the park. I was very happy to find 4 flowering orchids,
including 1 new to me epiphyte orchid.
We
had afternoon tea with Steve & Jos at the Medowie Macadamia Nut
Farm. It has been about 18 months since we last saw them.

What is left of the "mini" Ayers Rock which burnt down last night...
We also noticed there was a for sale sign for the place on the highway; surely not an insurance job???

Steve and Jos had us chatting away for a couple of hours. And there was cake, so double good.
I think I have a bit to learn about the diesel heater. When starting up it seems to draw a fair bit of current, so I'll have to make sure we have the oomph in the batteries to start it on cold mornings.
