SHE
SAID:
Heading
up the Great Northern Highway we saw heaps of water lying around from
the recent rains, also several large road trains with pilot vehicles
front & back.
We
stopped for a cuppa & again at the Paynes Find Roadhouse for a fuel
top-up.
Continuing
north for a further 12km we managed to find the free camp I wanted to
stay in. It was well off the road & had plenty of room to camp.
Geoff got a fire roaring at dusk & we sat out up on a clear starry
night looking for satellites.

HE SAID:
To get the fire going all I did was lie some twigs on a previously used fire spot and waited. The heat remaining from the last night's fire was enough to ignite the wood. Fires when camping are always fun, and this one had the benefit of helping to keep away the little biting insects that were trying to eat us alive earlier in the afternoon.
