Saturday 13th July

SHE SAID:

We did the Northern Wildflower loop today; shorter than yesterday's & devoid of orchids. There were some pink everlasting daisies beginning to appear though, along with other white daisies, yellow & purple flowers.

The highlight of today’s drive was “The Waterfalls”; a slight exaggeration, but scenic. The Greenough River was flowing & there was a small trickle over the rocks!

After lunch back at the van I headed out solo for a couple more hours; no flowering orchids seen again though!

HE SAID:

With no orchids seen the excitement for Varena was the appearance of the earliest spring flowers.
