Thursday 1st August

SHE SAID:

One of the local Foxes Lair experts, Lyn Alcock, kindly showed Geoff & I around the orchid spots of Foxes Lair today. She was great, with only 90 minutes to spare in her hectic schedule she took us to several places where the orchids were flowering, then left us to redo them at our own pace.

She pointed out 10 flowering orchids; it was an excellent morning, with several new to me.

After lunch I headed east for Yilliminning Rock, finding more orchids there, though nothing different from the morning ones.

Top; Primrose Spider Orchid (Caladenia xantha)
Bottom; Clubbed Spider Orchid (Caladenia longiclavata)

Hairy-stemmed Snail Orchid (Pterostylis setulosa)
Extremely tiny Bird's Nest fungi

Gaggle of Greenhoods

Pink Fairy Orchid (Caladenia reptans ssp.reptans)
Diuris brachyscapa (Western Wheatbelt Donkey Orchid)
HE SAID:

Varena really appreciated the help from Lyn at Foxes Lair. I went along, and even learned something.

The first Ashes test match starts tonight. Cool!
