SHE
SAID:
We
said a sad goodbye to Minnie & Skye (the cats) & headed
off to collect Bertie the caravan for our 70km drive to Willow
Springs.
This
free camp was about 5km off the Brockman Highway in an
old drover's camp. We had the place to ourselves till about
5.30pm, when a guy turned up in a small van. We enjoyed a roaring fire
for several hours before the rain came down.

Chillin' out at the fire
HE SAID: The
camp that Varena had found was a great place. We had space, peace and
quiet, and a great fire. But the tall forest was going to prevent any
recharging of our van batteries, as the solar panels were not going
to get any sun. Normally, this is fine for a day or two, but with
awful weather expected, we'll just have to wait and see. There were a
few light, misty showers during the afternoon, which we tolerated,
but we had to head inside when it became more persistent around dusk.
We enjoyed Varena's Bolognese for dinner.
