Friday 23rd June
SHE SAID:
We had a weather show at the house today.
It was windy, very wet & cold, a top of less than 10C, with a ‘feel-like’ temperature of 2C. The rain, hail & wind was coming off the ocean, so we went from seeing aqua blue water out of the huge picture windows to nothing but white-out with hail & rain pouring down in front of us!
Not a day to be outside, so apart from a dash to the van for the rest of our stuff we stayed in, huddled by the fire, with Charli, the Jack Russell dog.
These pictures just can't capture the awfulness of the weather out there today! |
The wonderful huge fire was pumping out heat all day! |
HE SAID:
My main job today was to try and keep us warm. Ean had the fire going when we got up to see them off, around 6:30, and I kept putting logs on it all day. The living room, kitchen, and dining room make up a large area, with high ceilings, so we never actually got the whole area warm. It wasn't cold, but it was not warm either. At this rate we'll be using all the firewood, and maybe getting some more!
