 Thursday 22nd June

SHE SAID:

We hit the road around 10am, heading east for Esperance. I had the mad idea of stopping for morning tea at an orchid spot I know. We should have kept going as the gravel road was very wet & more mud than gravel. Poor Bertie has never been so muddy!

Thankfully, Geoff managed to get us turned around without us sliding off the road into a ditch!

Ean was at the Retreat to meet us & hand over the keys to their house. Both he & Kylie had things to finalise before leaving for Perth in the morning, so we sorted ourselves out & went over to their place at West Beach.

We had dinner with them, their daughter Keeta, & the current caretakers, Tanya & Jason.

Geoff learning a new "trick",
staying upright on Keeta's "Hoverboard"
(which doesn't actually hover...???)

HE SAID:

It was good to have a little time at the house before the others came back, just so that we could take our time putting our things out and discussing our options. The bed in our room is a bit too big for the room, meaning that I have to turn sideways to get in and out. I'll just have to manage.

Ean brought Keeta back from school and she entertained us with constant chat, and her hover board skills. I had a go, which was probably not the smartest thing to do at my age, and in someone else's house, but I managed to get to the point where I could slowly get around, and not fall off much. This could be a fun toy for the next few weeks!
