Wednesday 21st June

It was another cold & miserable day orchid hunting on the field trip around Ravensthorpe. We did find a few leaves starting to appear in one of the burns. I also managed to find a single flowering ‘undescribed’ Bird to show to others, who hadn’t seen it before.
Later in the day Kerri, a local farmer, joined us & showed us another ‘undescribed’ orchid, a Donkey this time. So at least the other 4 WANOSCG members on the trip have now seen 2 new to them orchids!
It was so nice to get back to the toasty warm van, have a hot shower, & a hot cuppa!

Today just reinforced my self-belief that I still have at least a shred of sanity. This was achieved through staying in the warm and dry caravan again, instead of joining the much-less-sane-than-me orchid hunters in the miserable conditions.
NSW lost the plot in the second State of Origin match and were easily beaten. Again.
