 Sunday 16th July

SHE SAID:

The news out of Canberra this morning wasn’t very good. Val is in the ICU at Canberra Hospital. She seems to have a lung infection which is causing several problems, & she has tested positive for COVID too. This is a real worry as she refused to get vaccinated.

Geoff chatted with Eileen, who had taken her to the hospital, & to Carmel who was currently with Val in the intensive care unit.

She did improve in the late afternoon, though she is remaining in hospital.

We had a short wander with the dog; it was a lovely day. Then I went off solo looking for orchids in new locations & had some success.

More Mosquitos are flowering now
The Bird Orchids are getting bigger

HE SAID:

It seems that Mum has become worse, with several things going on.

Our walk in the morning was a good distraction for me, and the footy in the afternoon was also helped.

We teed up with Nat and Mike, our Albany house-sit owners for August, that if needed we could take and leave the van on their block if I'm called away to Canberra. Hopefully we won't need to do that.
