Thursday 10th August
SHE SAID:
We are back to cold & damp weather again today.
As it was very light drizzle we decided to venture out in the morning. I had several spots to check out; one was a burn, which we didn’t find! The other was a nature reserve that was recommended to me. This turned out to be very dense bush without orchids! I’m not sure why it was recommended!
We did a couple of random stops on the way home along Cape Riche Road; finally found some Donkeys & 1 flowering Esperance King Spider! It certainly wasn't nearly as good as yesterday, but I did finish on a high with the spider orchid.
Being back in the van for lunch & out of the rain for the rest of the day was good!

HE SAID:
We were lightly rained on for about half the morning. It was definitely a day for my big jacket as I wandered a bit dimly through the shrubbery.
We Skyped with Julian after dinner; Kiyoka is still in Ireland. After boasting that we'd had the last 5 nights as the only van in our campgrounds, shortly after finishing up some of the Kiwi sheep crutchers arrived, spoiling our perfect record.
Mum is seemingly making some progress in the rehab facility, at least physically. Though, how long until she can return is anyone's guess.
